Kindred Tech is partnering with the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) to tackle the spread of child sexual abuse images and videos on the internet.

Kindred Tech is a non-profit organisation that provides AI-powered technology to law enforcement investigators and public prosecutors. Through this partnership, Kindred Tech will integrate IWF’s trusted intelligence and reporting mechanisms into its Katalyst solution, helping investigators identify and remove harmful material and protect vulnerable children worldwide.

This collaboration reflects Kindred Tech’s commitment to child protection and its belief that every investigator should have access to advanced technology and reliable datasets to tackle online child sexual abuse. Kindred Tech will use IWF’s Hash List within Katalyst to strengthen its capabilities and provide actionable insights to those working on the front lines of child protection. The partnership will not only support law enforcement but also help to contribute to a safer digital ecosystem for all users.

Bree Atkinson, CEO of Kindred Tech, said: “Joining the IWF marks a pivotal moment for Kindred Tech. We believe that every investigator and hotline analyst should have access to the most advanced technology and trusted datasets and through our collaboration with the IWF, we can elevate that impact across every region we serve.”

Kerry Smith, Internet Watch Foundation CEO, said:“To enable the IWF to play its part in creating a safer online world, we need strong partners in the tech industry that will help us to disrupt, hinder and thwart the activities of child sexual abuse offenders. This is why we are grateful to have Kindred Tech on board who will use our high-quality datasets to help protect children worldwide.”
