The IWF works globally to make the internet safer for everyone, and has proved to be invaluable in the global fight against child sexual abuse content online.
IWF helps victims of child sexual abuse worldwide by identifying and removing online images and videos of their abuse. They search for child sexual abuse images and videos and offer a place for the public to report them anonymously. They then have them removed.
IWF offers international reporting solutions and a variety of unique technical tools to the internet industry, such as the game-changing and award-winning IWF Image Hash List, which ultimately helps the IWF and its current 130+ Members disrupt the availability of child sexual abuse imagery online.
Susie Hargreaves OBE, IWF CEO said: “I’m delighted the IWF has been awarded the ‘Excellence in Internet Safety’ Award. Every day our analysts assess hundreds of images of child sexual abuse so we can disrupt accesses to them and ultimately remove them from the internet. The ‘world first’ standards will help to ‘set and raise’ standards to prevent the upload and distribution of online child sexual abuse imagery.
