The IWF has been named Not for Profit of the Year at the British Data Awards 2022.
The British Data Awards is an annual campaign that celebrates the organisations and people that are deeply passionate about data and helps to uncover data success stories.
Organisations taking part this year include FTSE 100 giants, tech unicorns, innovative start-ups, large public sector bodies, agile not-for-profits, and everything in between.
Susie Hargreaves OBE, Chief Executive of the Internet Watch Foundation, said: “Every day I am proud to lead this team. Every single member of staff at the IWF has the protection and welfare of children at heart. It’s the reason we come to work and the reason we do what we do.
“We are a technology-enabled child protection charity, and data is key to understanding and identifying trends online. The crimes being committed online by sexual abusers against some of the most vulnerable children are appalling.
“Our work harnesses cutting-edge technology, and the expertise of our elite, trained analysts, to find and remove child sexual abuse material from the internet, safeguard children, and keep users safe online.”
Jason Johnson, British Data Awards judge and Co-Founder of cyber security company Predatech, said: “I’d like to extend my congratulations to all of our 2022 Winners.
“With 158 entries received this year, being named a winner really is a great achievement. I hope that all our winners feel immensely proud to be recognised for their data success stories on a national stage.”
Winners were announced in 19 categories, including sector specific awards such as ‘Healthcare Organisation of the Year’ and ‘AI Company of the Year’ as well as overall awards including ‘Large Company of the Year’ and ‘Data for Good Initiative of the Year’ which received the most entries this year.

The ‘world first’ standards will help to ‘set and raise’ standards to prevent the upload and distribution of online child sexual abuse imagery.
