Takedown Notices

Being an IWF Member is the quickest way to protect your services against online child sexual abuse content
The best way to remove criminal content from the internet is by removing it at source, and our UK Takedown Notices are key to this. These are immediate alerts we send to UK hosting companies about child sexual abuse images or videos hosted on their services. We also send them for non-photographic child sexual abuse images where these are hosted in the UK and break UK law.
We send Takedown Notices in partnership with the police to make sure evidence is preserved and their investigations aren’t compromised.
How these Notices will help your organisation
- Quicker removal: If you’re an IWF Member, we can easily contact you if we find criminal content on your services – so you’ll be able to remove it quicker.
- Actively searching: We're the only hotline in the world that’s actively searching for these images to remove them. So we’re finding more content than anyone else. We also carry out research to further develop our expertise.
Who can use it?
We send our Takedown Notices to all UK hosting companies, including:
- hosting
- online file storage
- social networking.
