IWF 'heroes' step up to tackle 5K challenge

Springtime’s here and, while no one seems to have told the weather this, we think it’s high time to get outdoors.

With this in mind, the IWF has teamed up with the creators of the 5k lockdown challenge, Run For Heroes, to bring you #5kMay.

Our staff will be lacing up their trainers and setting their stopwatches to run, walk, cycle, roll, or hop their way through a 5K – all in the name of raising funds to help combat the spread of child sexual abuse material on the internet.

We’ll then be passing the challenge on, with each participant nominating five others to go the distance.

But we won’t be running alone, and will be calling on members of the public to pick up the baton and hit the streets to help us in this vital mission.

How to take part?

•            Anyone can participate in a 5k (run, roll, walk, cycle, hop, socially distanced of course!) during May – the earlier the better!

You’ll be in good company, with famous faces like Mo Farah, Ellie Goulding, and Prime Minister Boris Johnson taking part to help raise funds for various charities.

Since it began in 2020, Run For Heroes has raised more than £7 million for NHS Charities.
