Messaging app Telegram will deploy new tools to prevent the spread of images of child sexual abuse after teaming up with the Internet Watch Foundation.

Paedophiles are using artificial intelligence (AI) to ‘de-age’ celebrities and create images of them as children.
A report by the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) has not revealed the names of the celebrities, but said female singers and film stars have mostly been targeted.
The charity also found evidence on one dark web forum of users manipulating images of child actors to make them sexual.
Analysis also found images of child sexual abuse are being fed into AI image generators to recreate them in different settings, while others are using them to ‘nudify’ children – taking images of clothed children uploaded to the internet for legitimate purposes.
