The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) provides a vital support to CleanDNS in its mission to provide a safe and fast means to disrupt online harms, such as child sexual abuse material (CSAM), via the services we provide to our clients. By relying on the IWF team and their efforts to assess, confirm and report CSAM, we can in turn facilitate our clients, such as registry, registrars and hosting providers, to play a meaningful role in the disruption and prevention of the publication of CSAM. In this, we can primarily help further reduce the impact to victims but also provide a layer of protection from CSAM exposure for our own CleanDNS analysts, as well as the anti-abuse teams of our clients. Our membership and continued efforts are a means by which we can support the mission and goals of the IWF. We continue to be staunch advocates of their work and recommend the use of IWF services as a preventative and disruptive effect against CSAM.
In our relentless pursuit of a world where no harmful digital content can be hidden or shared, groundbreaking technology and collaboration are vital. Last year, when more child sexual abuse material was discovered online than ever before, we partnered with IWF to create the largest secure-by-design Contraband Filter of child sexual abuse material available to date. This innovation is already empowering law enforcement agencies worldwide to quickly identify illegal files on suspect devices in a matter of seconds. Through partnership with IWF, it’s our hope that we can make a difference and safeguard more children by bringing technology, knowledge, and data together.
Child-harm content is appalling, unacceptable, and has no place on Discord or in society. We work relentlessly to make our platform a safe space for our users and we’re committed to continually exploring new and improved safeguards to keep users free from harm on the platform. This includes working closely with established experts like the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), where we can engage in meaningful dialogue and access valuable detection tools to safeguard our users. Safety is one of our most important investments, and we are grateful for the opportunity to partner with the IWF to help combat child sexual abuse material online, to contribute to the collective work of the IWF’s global community, and to create a safer internet for all.
The work of the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) to combat child sexual abuse imagery (CSAI) is a critical component of our service at DNSFilter. As Members since 2017, we filter out malicious and inappropriate content at the domain level for end users – and all IWF confirmed content is automatically blocked, ensuring that CSAI content is not accessed on work or public computers. More than 30,000 organisations of various kinds – from schools to enterprises to public wi-fi networks – across the globe rely on DNSFilter to block this type of illegal content. We’re proud to play a part in IWF’s mission of eliminating CSAI from the internet.
