IWF 2024: URL List – Blocking Access to Child Sexual Abuse Imagery

We provide a list of webpages containing child sexual abuse images and videos hosted outside the UK to companies who want to block or filter them for their users’ protection, and to prevent the repeated victimisation of the children in the images. We update the list twice a day, removing and adding URLs.

During 2024:

A total of 142,789 unique URLs were included on the list.
On average, 1,129 URLs were added each day (1,116 in 2023). The list contained an average of 6,722 URLs on any given day.

Our URL list is dynamic, with URLs being added and removed daily.

Our remit is to issue notice and takedowns (also known as take down notices) for sites hosted in the UK only. However, for sites hosted outside the UK we notify other hotlines and law enforcement agencies for them to take action.

We perform a daily check of our IWF URL List. If content is not removed in a timely manner the IWF will issue removal notices directly to the hosting provider in the relevant country. When the criminal content has been taken down we will remove the URLs from our list to ensure it is as accurate as possible.
