Below are known SPAM emails in circulation that have already been reported to us. Where appropriate these issues have already been referred to the police so there is no need to report them again.

When you are reporting an e-mail that advertises and/or links to potentially illegal child abuse content, we require the Web address of the content. A Web address looks like this: http://www.iwf.org.uk or www.iwf.org.uk. If you cannot find or see a Web address in the mail, for example the mail simply says 'Click Here', follow these instructions to find the Web address or use the help feature in your email client.

1. If you are using the reading pane in Outlook or Outlook Express, Right Click on the text in the window
2. Select View Source, a new window will open displaying the source code of the email
3. Right Click on that window and Select ALL or Press Ctrl A (or Edit->Select All) then Right Click and Copy or Ctrl C (or Edit->Copy) to copy the code
4. Then Right Click and Paste or Ctrl V to paste the code into the description box below

If you do not use the reading pane functionality, first ensure images are turned off in your email reader then you may open the email by double clicking on it and then follow the instructions above.

These instructions are for Outlook and Outlook Express, please seek advice if you are using a alternative email system.

In order for the IWF to investigate a website we need its address which is known as a URL e.g. http://www.iwf.org.uk, www.iwf.org.uk or iwf.org.uk

If you have any information you think may assist the IWF such as a description of where the content you are reporting is located on a large website or username and password needed to gain access, please include it in the description box. Thank you.

When reporting images/posting within a newsgroup please include as much relevant detail as you can e.g.

The name of the group - alt.binaries.pictures.erotica
Author of the posting - joe@mailname.com
Subject (title) of posting - collection of images

Online Clubs, Groups and Communities are web-based areas for users with a shared interest to communicate, swap ideas, media files and pictures. Like any service the criminal minority can abuse this. If you wish to report one that you believe contains images of child abuse, then please report the full web address of the club (URL), as it appears in your web browser's address bar e.g. http://groups.iwf.org.uk/GroupName. Please also include any information that will help us locate the potentially illegal images, such as which folder/area of the group they are located.
